Gigi is on the move

Oh how much difference a few months makes! Our little star is now crawling with the speed of a race car. She tends to like to crawl to places that are dirty and full of things that can be dangerous so one of our jobs-keeping her safe- just got a lot harder. But on the flip side we now can see that our babe is totally capable of getting around on her own. She is also eating all sorts of yummy foods like chicken, beets, & squash. We still have no computer at home, but in the not too distant future we will get another one and then we will begin posting photos once again.

Mommy and Gigi Yoga

When Gigi was still an embryo I was doing yoga. Now she is a big girl and likes to do it with me. This morning she woke up from her nap and did some big stretches while daddy took our picture!

Gigi's Fairy Godmother

Since our little Gianna is a fairy it only stands to reason that she'd have a fairy godmother and she does. Her name is Koana and this weekend she came up and visited us. Gigi got alot of kisses and hugs and Koana got tons of smiles and giggles.

Is there anything that doesn't look cute on her? We don't think so. It seems like she knows already how to ham it up for the camera!

Happy Father's Day!

Gigi and her Daddy had a wonderful Father's Day together! They laughed, smooched, and were so happy to be eachother's Father and Daughter.

Oh I am CUTE!!!

Oh what fun it is to see yourself !! Gigi has discovered why people are always smiling at her - she is friggin adorable & you can' t help but smile when she smiles her million dollar smile. Our good friend Dawn finally had her baby - Gemini - and here is a picture of Gigi and Gemini together at their first pow-wow....it is the start of a beautiful friendship. Gigi has also started to enjoy taking walks while in her stroller. It plays music and when we walk we can bop our head to the beat.

The dolphin among us

So our little Gigi has discovered her voice and she isn't afraid to use it. She now loves to stick her tongue out and make big noises. The closest description we can think of is a dolphin noise. She continues to amaze us every day with her smiles and laughs and keen sense of self. She is beginning to really get the hang of holding her head up while she is laying on her tummy. One of her favorite times of the day is when the kitties and doggie get their food. She knows that they get all excited and that makes her happy! She also really likes when her friend Bailey comes over. Bailey is 2 months older than Gigi and is teaching her all about crawling and sitting up.

Strawberry shortcake

Our little babe was all dressed for the occasion when we were invited over to grandma and grandpa's house for strawberry shortcake. Gigi has also eaten her first food - a teeny tiny bit of cherry fresh from the tree. She put her tongue on it over and over again and then finally it was gone.

Nando and his sister

It is the return of the classic-a pup and a baby. These are the two cutest beings EVER and they truly love each other!

Gigi jump-up

One of Gigi's favorite new things is her johnny jump-up. She especially loves it when one of our animals comes and shows her love while she is hangin' around. She also has a new fascination with the floor fan in our bedroom. Each time she is about to go to sleep for a nap she reaches out for it and seems to play it like a harp. Now we are on the hunt for some sort of toy that mimics the fan feeling and sound. Last week we had a few friends over and it was a good time for everyone. All the babies loved it and the mommies had fun too! In the picture we took we noticed that we are standing in chronological order of our babies ages. Starting from the left-Julie & Malia (one year), Ada & Bailey (6 1/2 months), Sundara & Gigi (4 1/2 months), Flurina & Julien (1 month). Gigi is taking one of her naps right now which means its time for me to go eat some breakfast!

The whole family

Here we are along the coast in Montera. We were practically still waking up when this picture was taken. We had a great road trip and we were only sad we didn't have one or two extra days to see some more of our loved ones.....It will just have to wait till next time.

Half Moon Bay dreams

Gigi very much enjoyed her stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Half Moon Bay over the past weekend. She especially loved their snuggly soft sheets & pillows.

New tricks

Gigi is up to some new tricks these past couple of weeks. One of her new activities is hanging out in her jumperoo-she is getting better and better at standing and jumping in it. She also has been having some tummy time. She can now hold herself up on her very own two arms - for a few seconds anyway! Also she has been grasping at things and holding on to them too. We just returned from a trip to the Bay Area and soon we will be adding pictures from that trip - but as they are all polaroids it will have to wait. Some of the big news from that trip is that Gigi will have her surgery at Stanford on November 7th -- oh what a happy day it will be!

Visits from our friends

We are so blessed to have so many good friends that have come up to welcome Gigi Bella into the world. Gianna's godmother Koana came up January 10th and has been wanting to return again ever since. We also had a visit from our friend Shana and her sweet boxer doggie, Maddie. The most recent visitors were Jenny belle and her boyfriend Rob. They were the first to stay at our new house! We look forward to a summer filled with visits from friends and lots of trips to the river to swim!

Hi everyone!

Gigi is visiting the 1970's thanks to our friend Jenny Belle who brought her a vintage pants suit to hang out in. We are so fortunate to have a home that people can now come to visit..even if they do have to sleep on the floor right now.

A growing girl

Gigi is doing so many new things. She can now grasp her rattles and sometimes even put them in her mouth. She is learning how to sit up with the help of her very own "bebe pod" - its a special chair just for babies. Another new thing she loves to do is stand up-with our help of course. She smiles really big when you let her stand on her own two feet. She is also giggling! It is a joy hear.

The New House!!!

Well it is Monday morning and we are totally moved into our new home by the river. It is truly amazing and we are still pinching ourselves (we probably will be still pinching ourselves for the next couple of years). As one can plainly see, Gigi is also tickled about being in her new home. The weather has been gorgeous - not quite nice enough to jump in the Eel river, but almost. We have been busy putting things where they need to go and keeping our little girl happy and healthy. I'd love to write more about our place but in the interest of saving time I'll attach some pictures, more to come after we have cleaned up a bit more! I'm also putting in a picture of Gigi with our aunt Andrea & cousin Ayla. They came to visit last weekend and it is safe to say Miss Gigi stole their hearts and added two more people to her fanclub.

Tavia and Cousin Dante

A fine time was had yesterday with our family. Cousin Dante is really starting to check out lil Gigi. He is a sweet boy who is very gentle with his newest cousin. My friend Tavia came to visit over the weekend and got a taste of the Humboldt life. She was so happy to finally get to know Gigi in real life! We had some snow on the peaks yesterday, but down near our house it was lovely-freezing, but beautiful as ever. The picture of the scenery was taken on a walk about 5 minutes away from our house.

Grandpa Joe

Grandpa Joe came to visit and we forgot to show the world his visit! He came the weekend of Valentines day and was of course in love with his very first grandchild. Gigi and him got along great....she gazed upon him and probably thought "hey I've got your nose". Grandpa also brought his lovely Barbara who also fell head over heels in love with her first "grandchild in-love". They brought us lovely things to help tired parents relax. One of our favorite gifts from them is a lavender eye pillow that Gigi uses as a regular pillow at night! I think the aromatherapy helps her sleep better. Its rainy and wet today so we will be going over to grandma and grandpa's house to hunker down and play with Gigi's only cousin, Dante (age 2 1/2) --- what a doll. We'll post some pictures of them together soon!

Coo's and kisses

There are so many new things going on with Miss Gigi. She will be 12 weeks on Sunday-hard to believe! We are getting ready to move into our new home by the river and we are all excited. Gigi will have her own room there which we are looking forward to and also and a bit sad about. It will be a struggle but we will be attempting to move her out of our bed and into the crib. It might not happen for a while still, but it is in our future.

We have also learned that Gigi has a condition called choanal atresia. It means that there is membrane/bone in the area where her left nostril is-its not visible to the naked eye but I noticed something was up and had it checked out. Turns out we were right and Gigi will have to have an operation when she is two or three years old. Its not an emergency situation but it is still scary because she gets really congested and isn't breathing out of her mouth yet. Through all of the tests Gigi was a trooper-she cried like crazy, and then quickly calmed down once the dr. was done.

We are of course saddened by this news, but we are also very grateful that nothing else seems to be wrong with her. Some unfortunate children are born with both of their nostrils covered and then they have to have emergency surgery right when they are born. So we are counting our blessings and keeping our heads up.

Gigi and I have just completed a baby massage class. I now know how to rub a dub dub our little girl and she really enjoys it. It is a nice way for us to connect and it seems to relax her.

Bubby has arrived

Gianna's great grandma Marj has arrived from Los Angeles. We have decided to call her "bubby" which means Jewish grandmother. We are having a good time amid lots and lots of rain! Gigi has really been getting into her kick and play chair. She loves to watch the colors and listen to the sounds while she bounces. Today we are off to mommy and me yoga ....

Our Little Pixie

Today Gigi is 7 weeks new, and she still has that new car smell to her. Since day one, people have commented on what a little pixie Gigi is. Soon enough she'll be asking Grandma to make her some fairy wings. The pics above were taken at our first annual Birthday Bash/2nd Thanksgiving. Gigi's Great Godmother & Godfather, Bunny & Kirby went all out & cooked up a huge Thanksgiving style feast to celebrate the many birthday's that fall around this time. Thanks again Bunny & Kirby!
